Parque de las Palomas
Parque de las Palomas (Pigeon Park) is located in Old San Juan along the southern city wall overlooking Paseo de la Princesa. On the eastern edge of the park is the Capilla del Cristo, an old historic chapel built in the 1700's.
The tree-lined park is aptly named with its abundance of pigeons that nest in a large wall with holes cut into it. You can purchase bird seed in the park if you want to feed the birds yourself or if you just want to get an interesting picture. There are also some park benches as well as a stand the sells drinks.
Parque de las Palomas was originally built in the 1700's as part of a defensive wall and was a staging area for cannon placements.
