Cerrillos State Forest

Cerrillos State Forest is directly north of the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico and is roughly is in the center of the country. The majority of this state forest consists of Lake Cerrillos and includes a relatively small amount of forest land surrounding the lake. Lake Cerrillos is a man-made lake created by the Lake Cerrillos Dam when construction of the dam completed in 1992.

Activities in Cerrillos State Forest include hiking, fishing in the lake, camping, boating, and picnic areas. Along with the construction of the dam, a large recreational area, including Cerrillos Park, was built. Cerrillos Lake is very popular for several types of boating including canoeing and kayaking.
